THE ICHTHUS

About

A place for biblical teaching, Christian resources and encouragement to know Christ and live faithfully.

ABOUT THE ICHTHUS

Know Christ. Know His Word. Live for Him.

The Ichthus exists to encourage people to know Christ, understand His Word and live faithfully for Him.

Our aim is simple: to make biblical teaching and Christian resources accessible, clear and useful for everyday life.

WHAT IS AN ICHTHUS?
ΙΧΘΥΣ

A simple symbol pointing to Christ.

The word ichthus (ἰχθύς) is the Greek word for “fish”. The fish became an important Christian symbol in the early church and has continued to be associated with the Christian faith throughout history.

The Greek letters of ΙΧΘΥΣ have also been understood as an acrostic expressing the confession:

Jesus Christ — God's Son — Saviour.

For us, the name is a reminder of where everything on this site is meant to point: to Jesus Christ and the truth of God's Word.

OUR PURPOSE

Christ at the centre.

Everything on The Ichthus is intended to point back to Jesus Christ and the truth of God's Word.

Through Bible studies, articles, youth material and carefully selected resources, we want to encourage Christians to grow in their understanding of Scripture, strengthen their faith and live for Christ.

THE WORD OF GOD

Scripture is our foundation.

The Bible is central to everything we seek to do. We believe that God's Word is authoritative and sufficient, and that Christians are called to know it, believe it and live according to it.

Our teaching and resources are therefore intended to direct people back to Scripture rather than away from it.

OUR VISION

Faith that is lived.

Christianity is not simply about gaining knowledge. We want the truth of Scripture to shape how we think, how we live and how we follow Christ each day.

The Ichthus will continue to grow as new Bible studies, articles, youth material and resources are developed.

THE ICHTHUS

Know Christ. Know His Word. Live for Him.

Our prayer is that The Ichthus would be useful in pointing people towards Christ and encouraging them to faithfully follow Him.
